only partial here I am afraid, it wont be a split diaphragm in The Bubbas an expansion vessel you don't have one you don't need to pressurise ur Registered User system it is open vented not sealed, you may indeed have a blocked cold Joined: Wednesday, 16th of June 2010, 19:33:39 feed easiest way to check go into ur loft lift the lid on the expansion Posts: 667 tank & check the open vent pipe hanging into it. Viewed 17070 times no water should come out when the system is running - ever.
your pump probably wont need to be adjusted reason being if ur system has
worked properly for many years with it at the same setting & no one has
altered it. it must be a fault elsewhere.

Because you have the boiler turned up high and only one rad, angelfish the pump for the heating circuit is pumping the water up the expansion Registered User pipe into the expansion tank. Your pump was designed to pump for 12 rads Joined: Tuesday, 11th of May 2010, 00:26:36 not one. have seen this happen.

it sounds like you have an old heating system,,, turn the speed giggle kitten of you pump down,, the speed selecter is on your pump, your pump was Registered User pumping the heating water over, turn your boiler stat down as well,,, also Joined: Monday, 14th of June 2010, 08:55:40 try venting your rads,, if youre not getting any water out of the rads Posts: 797 upstairs,, you have a blocked cold feed. Viewed 10411 times if you have a section of pipework should be cut out and replaced, (where
the cold feed tees into the open vent)
a power flush would be a good idea as well.

If the expansion tank had too much water in it when it was cool MY SEXY NERD then as the system heated the volume expands & excess water will overflow Registered User if the thermal expansion is larger than the ullage voume. If after cooling Joined: Wednesday, 26th of May 2010, 15:13:05 & putting back on it overflows again it would suggest that the float valve Posts: 1681 is leaking water into the system all the time, if this was the case then Viewed 18512 times it will eventually overflow all the time. Alternatively the expansion tank
is too small & cannot cope with the thermal expansion within ur system .
Does it overflow when cold? Hvae you tried going from hot to cold & back
to hot & is it still overflowing?

it all depends where the plumber directed the over flow, but AngelStar yes. You would not want this water flow into your cold water tank. It have Registered User anti corrosion chemicals in so is best placed back in the system. Joined: Saturday, 1st of May 2010, 06:44:34 Posts: 1981 Viewed 10295 times
