Radiators getting hot when the hot water is on
Now that we have turned the radioators back on for winter, we've noticed
they get hot when the hot waterheating is on. Do l need a
plumber, or is there a quick fix?I am thinking that bleeding the radiators
will do no good, right? (thought they probably need it anyway).
its sounds to me you can fix that your self , it sounds like
you heating element has burned out and they can easily be replaced....Good

mid position valve sounds at fault. some of them you can remove
just the head by undoing a couple of screws. then see if the spindle left
sticking up is stuck.if i if it moves freely maybe the motor in the valve
is faulty. when the heating comes on you should hear a motor move inside
the valve. the valve is the rectangular looking object with three 22mm
pipes leading to it.
i would guess at the spindle being stuck as it won't have moved for around 6 or 7 months.
Did you have any plumbing work done since last winter? Do you
know that it didn't do this last winter or ever before? What it sounds
like is some one did something with the plumbing after the radiator and
the hot water that is going to your sink or shower is actually flowing
through your radiator and then to your sink and shower. This will cause it
to heat up.
Ummmmmmm might need some more information - like you never had
this problem before you switched the heating on ?
or its only the bathroom radiator getting warm?
It only happens when the CH is switched on and there is no demand for CH?
lastly, no hot water running, no demand for CH and yet, the boiler is
running ?
They are supposed to get hot when the hot water heating is one.

Diverter valve usually in the airing cupboard along with the
pump. Some you can change the motor some need the head changing and then
there are others that you must change the full valve. Cost up to £ 150
max because the heating is on all the time you most likely need a full
valve, that is a partial drain down.
am a plumber, right bleeding no good, depends whether u on
combi boiler or gravity fed system{copper cylinder in airing cupboard} if
combi boiler internal flow switch needs replacing so need corgi registered
plumber, if gravity fed 2 way valve which should be located near cylinder
can be manually moved to hot water, heating or both so do it yourself or
pay £120 plus vat
